Flashback to football season 2013. Peyton Manning is dominating the league and Buffalo Wild Wings is looking for a new campaign that can increase sales on a smaller budget. It was time to call in The Coach: an old-school icon inspired by a time in sports when a coach’s job wasn’t just about winning, but about turning starry-eyed players into quality people. He’s the Coach for the Game of Life. After nine commercials into the campaign, B-Dubs saw a 13% increase in year-over-year sales. Even Peyton can’t complete a play like that.
